Our Mission

Cailyn is married to Nathan and mother to three Cor Deo Students: Jane, Jensen, and Greyson. She carries a deep passion for truth, virtue, and for God to receive the glory! Classical Christian education was the discovery she didn’t know her family needed, but was the answer to their prayers. As she has seen her children thrive in and be transformed by this powerful model of education, it has become a passion of her own. Cailyn’s heart is that every family who longs for this for their child, could one day have access to it. In addition to a conviction to do what is right, uncompromising principles, hard-work, and dedication, Cailyn brings a practical parental view, discernment, a heart of faith, and an active prayer life to the School Board. Her organizational and administrative strengths, gained through helping her husband run their small business for 15+ years, will serve Cor Deo well. When she is not training up her children in the way they should go or being humored by her husband, you might find Cailyn running early in the morning, baking, reading, gardening, or you may bump into her camping with her family at a National Park!

Rennie is married to Denny, mom to their grown children, Michaela, Liam and Ethan, mother-in-law to Kevin, grandmother to beautiful Thea and dog mom to Sailor. She is the family event coordinator and gatherer. As a classical Christian homeschool educator for over 18 years, she now tutors in math and mentors homeschooling parents and children on how to homeschool high school successfully. While homeschooling she spent many years on the leadership team of her classical Christian coop. Excited to be a part of The Cor Deo School board, Rennie hopes to share her years of schooling in the classical method, love of learning and encouraging children to love to learn in a loving Christian environment. She is a highly organized person who loves to share her love of Jesus and classical knowledge with anyone who will listen.

As newly relocated residents to Stretch Island in southern Puget Sound, they have become active members at Christ The Rock Community Church. She is involved in Women’s Ministry and Bible study. Avid adventurers and sailors, the Dennehy’s took two years to sail the east coast, Bahamas, Caribbean, and South and Central America with their children. Even though the children have all grown, the love of travel continues to be a part of their family life, along with restoring an early 1900’s cabin in southern Puget Sound.

Todd is father to Cor Deo students Parker (5th grade) and Benson (3rd grade), and married to his wife Carlie. He is a vice president for a local civil construction company and is very passionate about the industry as well as the people that work within it. Todd is practical, hard-working, and seeks to solve problems with a blend of creativity and realism. As a member of his local church in Puyallup, Todd is actively engaged and on mission within multiple ministries and teams that seek to make disciples and spread the gospel locally. In his free time, Todd enjoys listening to history podcasts, reading biographies on American presidents, cutting firewood, snow skiing with his family, and playing sports with his boys.

As a parent to Luke McCormick (and Cydni, his wife) and grandfather to their 3 children - Hank (4th), Lola (2nd), and Waylon (K), Mark is very interested in the education of his grandchildren and thrilled they are getting a superior education in a Classic Christian School.  

As an elder at a local U.P. church, he hopes to bring a solid foundation for governing a Christian School and enumerating our key values and sincerely held beliefs in the Reformed tradition so we can keep our Christian identity in the midst of the culture wars we are navigating through in these difficult days.

Brian is a CPA with over 15 years of experience in nonprofit financial management.  He is a proud parent of two Cor Deo children and serves on the Finance Committee.  

Brian Slusarz, Senior Director of Accounting and Reporting, oversees various aspects of finance, accounting, procurement for World Vision, a global Christian humanitarian organization. Brian is a CPA with over 15 years of progressive experience in in the non-profit and public accounting sectors. Brian received his bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting & International Business from Indiana University and has a master’s degree in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced

Justin is father of Cor Deo 6th Grader, Amos Uhler.  Justin and his wife Jessica live in Tacoma and are the parents of 3 college aged kids, Sabine, Isaiah, and Jasper, in addition to Amos.

Justin is a former enlisted Army Infantryman and commissioned Infantry officer.  For the past 18 years, Justin has worked in the Management Consulting industry with an emphasis on large scale, corporate transformation and operational strategy.  Justin just recently completed a four year tenure as a board member and Board President of the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation in Gig Harbor, WA, leading that non-profit through a period of tremendous growth financially, programmatically, and organizationally.  The Foundation focuses on combat veteran and First Responder mental health, for which Justin possesses a lifelong passion and interest.

Justin and Jess attend First Presbyterian Church and are both avid readers, active travelers, and love the outdoors, spending their time running, skiing, cycling, hiking, climbing, backpacking, et al.  If it’s outside, you will likely find them on some adventure.  

Anne is an efficiency expert for her family and a mighty prayer warrior. She played a strategic role in expanding First Presbyterian Church School into a preschool through fifth-grade school (now Cor Deo) and is passionate about equipping youth to know the Lord. She modestly offers her years of experience as an active supporter of Christian schools, her wisdom as a seasoned parent of a college student and high school student, her authentic and charismatic personality, and her heart for prayer to our school. When she isn’t watching one of her son’s golf tournaments, you can find her volunteering for the American Junior Golf Association, First Tee, and the Washington Junior Golf Association. She is also starting a satellite wing of the Women’s Group, Anchor for Women, to gather and support women in prayer and community. Married to Christopher and mom to Sam and Joe, her faith and family are what matter most.
